A Tale of Two Molars

Logan sprouted his two bottom molars yesterday. Of course, it might have been a little sooner, but we noticed them yesterday. Sharp little white dots poking through the gums on both sides. He was drooling and biting his fingers some, but not as much as with the top molars and top canines. Plus, no runny nose as with the top teeth.

Today, we had a magnificent time hanging out with the Mountain Mamas. It is too hot to hike for now, but we had an excellent play group at Meredith's house. :) It was nice to see everyone, as it has been a little while. It is amazing how all the kids have grown. It was fun to compare notes. See how everybody has been developing, and hear everyone's sleep horror stories. :) Logan is king of the teeth with 14 to date, and Eric has started saying words, so he is the talker!!! :) Some kids are already weaned, and it is nice to hear that our kid is not the only one who is not sleeping in the crib. We were swapping stories on how to get our kids down to sleep, how to keep them asleep, and favorite foods. Fun stuff for sometimes isolated Moms. ;)

Yesterday, Logan and I met with Maureen, Joey and Nick for the Dewper show. Dewper is a prairie dog that sings and dances for the kids. Yesterday's show was especially cool because there was a reptile show. The handlers brought out many different sizes and kinds of snakes and lizards. I didn't catch the names, but wow they brought out some HUGE reptiles. One snake must have been 10 feet long and easily 6 inches in diameter. I think I heard them say it weighed 100 lbs. Yikes!! Impressive. Needless to say, the kids loved them.

Logan continues to go to sleep in his own bed, and stay there maybe half the night. He is adept at feet-first descents off beds, couches, and other miscellaneous items. Yesterday, for the first time, Logan climbed up onto the coffee table. Not my favorite accomplishment of his, but a climbing feat nonetheless. :) Logan is quite the climber. He was scaling some pretty high features at the mall play land, much to my dismay. Logan's new favorite toy is a belated birthday gift from Arlene. It is a Lightening McQueen (from the Cars movie) push car. He *loves* it. Daddy assembled it Wednesday night, and Thursday morning first thing after waking, he was playing on it. He pushed it around for a while, and then I put him on it. After that, he was able to get off it and onto it by himself. Its amazing to see him toss his leg over the seat. He also enjoys putting toys in its "trunk" seat. :) Thanks to Arlene for the great toy! :)

Wednesday, we visited Julian, Arlene, Kyra and Taylor for a morning full of fun at their house. :) We haven't seen Arlene and Julian in forever, so it was excellent to catch up! :) And Logan enjoyed playing with new toys and interacting with the kids.
