Trick or Treat!

Logan's first halloween has been fun and eventful! The day started off with a trip to our church's halloween festival. It was fun to meet with other moms and to see all the fun costumes! I enjoyed snacks and conversation, while Logan enjoyed watching other kids. Inevitably, Logan got tired out and we took off for home. Later, we had a visit from Aunti Tawnya who returned a lost dog to her owner after finding her collarless and roaming the neighbor post-pumpkin carving on Saturday. We had a nice afternoon together, and Tawnya helped me set up for trick or treating.

Daddy was stuck in some unfortunate traffic, so the trick or treating started off with just Logan and me. Logan sported his Yoda outfit, though he was mistaken for an alien and elf. Even though I had not managed to get all of our halloween decorations out this year (Kiddo takes up a lot of time, but we don't mind!!), we still put out a pretty good spread! :)

We had our three carved pumpkins - two were ours, one classic face and one double-sided stencil-carved pumpkin, and one was carved by Chris and Kelly during pumpkin carving.

Our flaming cauldrons complemented the grave stones, and the lighted pumpkins looked nice by the date palms.

Pirate Skelly greeted the trick or treaters ominously. ;) Trick or treating started off slow, but by the time Russ got home 20 minutes in, the activity was in full swing! We had lots of trick or treaters, and by 8:30 all our candies were gone.

When Daddy showed up, Mama took Logan out for his first trick or treating experience! :) We went to the nearest eight neighbors. Our street had great halloween participations, with lots of lights and decorations!! :) I am glad to see that no matter how many "halloween festivals" that cities, churches, and schools organize that the standard trick or treat night is still a huge hit!! :) Logan got some great loot! :)
